An IC card, also known as an integrated circuit card, is constructed by embedding one or more integrated circuits on a plastic card of the same size as a regular credit card. The integrated circuit chip can be a memory or a microprocessor. An IC card with a memory is also called a memory card or a memory card, and an IC card with a microprocessor is also called a smart card or a smart card.
